Application Process

In November each year the Board will seek applications for grants to be distributed the following year.

If the Board decide to target a particular area that will be advised when proposals are called for.

The Board is interested in well-defined one-off projects that visibly add value. They will expect to see measurable results and expect feedback on how the money has been applied. While their preference is for one-off projects, if projects are dependent on on-going funding they will require evidence as to how the project will be supported on an on-going basis. They will fund individuals and agencies but agencies will need to have a charitable purpose. Grants will typically be in a range up to $25,000.

Use the following checklist to see whether your project might be eligible for funding:

1.

Will your project contribute to one of the IHC Foundation's key goals?

  • Building public and community awareness
  • Providing opportunities for families and self advocates to come together
  • Assisting people into meaningful work
  • Promoting physical health and wellbeing
  • Developing self advocate leaders
2.

Will you or your organisation also be contributing to the cost of the project?

3.

Have you checked that your funding is not one of the following excluded purposes the IHC Foundation does not normally fund?

  • Buildings and associated capital items
  • Vehicles
  • Core services that would be considered part of government's responsibilities
  • Day to day administration costs (unless associated with a specific project)
